Writing helps to shed a light on the reality of hunger, and puts into the words what the experience of hunger in Colorado is really like. Its encouraged for participants to express themselves and put real stories to the overwhelming statistics surrounding hunger. Your story provides tangible evidence that there’s a need to face the impacts of hunger on individuals, families, and communities throughout Colorado. Your voice is your most powerful tool, and telling stories is how people come alongside and relate to you.
Photography is our primary and preferred method of sharing your story of hunger. We believe in strength in numbers, and the more Coloradan’s we have gives us that strength. As we said before, a photo with your story of hunger is really all you need to participate.
Video Testimony is a great method of capturing your story. Videos on the Hunger Through My Lens website receive more views and help create waves toward our mission to end hunger in Colorado.
Audio Recording is another great method for sharing your story, especially if you have difficulties typing or hand-writing your story. Your voice goes a long way in sharing your passion for the story you tell. Additionally, we have bilingual transcribers that can interpret your story into text if you’d rather your voice or identity be kept a secret.
Personalized Artwork can be a photo of a painting, drawing, or anything that conveys an idea or emotion associated with hunger. We want to see your creativity and read about it.
